ON-CAMPUS HOUSING

FACULTY HOUSING

The demand for faculty housing always exceeds the limited
supply, so that faculty housing is offered only to full-time, compensated Officers of Instruction and Research.  The first priority is for Officers of Instruction.  Those who are not eligible for housing include Clinical Faculty, i.e., Asst. Clinical Professor, Adjunct, Lecturer, Instructor and all part-time faculty. 

All faculty housing is located on the Morningside Campus or the Upper West Side.  There is no faculty housing at the Medical Center Campus.  Priority for housing is given to those coming from outside the New York Metropolitan area.  Apartments for non-tenured faculty are assigned by University Apartment Housing, and housing for tenured faculty is assigned through means of the Housing Priorities Committee.  

New applications, transfer applications and information can be obtained from the Director of Faculty and Postdoctoral Housing at 212-305-4930 or as1034@columbia.edu.  Completed applications must be accompanied by a supporting letter from the Chair of the Department or the Dean of the School, addressed to the Senior Vice Dean,  and returned to the Director of Faculty and Postdoctoral Housing.
